Town Democrats offer voting tips

This letter is from Aimee Coolidge and Stephanie Swanson, both Arlington residents, cochairs of the Arlington Democratic Town Committee.

Core to the values of the Democratic Party is the right of each and every American to cast their vote.

While in our view, the current occupant of the White House is doing his best to interfere with that most sacred American right, we are confident that the Arlington clerk’s office and the U.S. Post Office in our town are working diligently to ensure that each Arlingtonian is afforded the opportunity to vote. Their task is tall this year, as there are several options available to all of us to do so.

If you are registered to vote by Oct. 24, you will have the option of voting in one of three ways:

1.) in person on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov.3;

2.) in person during two weeks of early voting between Oct. 17-30 at Town Hall; or

3.) by requesting and sending in your mail-in ballot.

For more details about how to vote in Arlington, check out

And when exercising your right to vote, in whatever way you choose, we ask that you consider casting your vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Right now, there are hundreds of us in Arlington working every day of the week to elect Biden and Harris by making phone calls, writing letters, sending postcards and texting voters as part of the Biden-Harris team. We are committed to the work, because Biden and Harris have big, bold plans that are right for our country and our town. Their plans will mobilize American manufacturing and innovation to ensure that the future is made in America. They will use American ingenuity to build a modern, sustainable infrastructure and deliver an equitable, clean energy future.

As president and vice president, Biden and Harris will pursue an agenda dedicated to closing the racial wealth gap, expanding affordable housing, investing in Black, Latino and Native-American entrepreneurs and communities, advancing policing and criminal-justice reform, and making real the promise of educational opportunity regardless of race or ZIP code. They will ensure these investments create good-paying, union jobs that expand the middle class, and they will make certain women’s issues remain at the forefront of our country’s policy efforts.

All of this is just the beginning of what a Biden-Harris administration would mean for all of us. You can head to to learn more.

In advance of voting season, we would like to recognize and thank the Arlington clerk’s Office and our post office employees for undertaking the herculean task of ensuring our ballots are counted. With those ballots, we hope you vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Nov. 3.
