Let's help town businesses in this uncertain time

Patricia Harrigan Browne of Arlington created a set of Google Sheets aimed at helping Arlington businesses in response to the coronavirus crisis.

Carla Dorato smiles at the town's first cash mob at Artful Heart on Oct. 15, 2016.

She wrote on the A-List Facebook group Tuesday, March 17: "I have created an online list to support Arlington businesses with their phone numbers, addresses, and websites and how to buy from them ...

"Gift certificates, takeout, delivery services -- whatever we can do to support local businesses ....

"I ... encourage everyone to contribute: Business owners can enter (and update as needed) any info

"Then I encourage community members to use the list to support our local businesses.

"It is mostly for Arlington-based businesses, but recognize that there are close-by businesses that are also near and dear to us, so feel free to add on."

The photo above is from a polite cash mob in 2016 at Artful Heart, 8 Medford St., showing owner Carla Dorato and customers. It illustrates just one business in town to consider -- once it is again safe to shop.

This plea to help Arlington businesses was published Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and updated numerous times thereafter because information found at the linked has changed.
