Lunar New Year celebration

The Town of Arlington was the host for its second annual Lunar New Year celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Robbins Memorial Town Hall Auditorium, 730 Mass. Ave. 

The holiday is signifcant in many cultures across Asia and is celebrated by millions of people all over the world as an early welcoming of spring. 

The celebration includes performances, activities, games and more. Last year's celebration featured singing and dancing as well as drawing activities.

This event is organized by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division in collaboration with Enhance Asian Community on Health (EACH), Arlington High School’s Asian American Coalition, Chinese Culture Club and the Arlington Public School's Mandarin Language Department, a news release said.

These participating groups seek volunteers to help co-create the event, according to the town website. Those interested were asked to contact Community Engagement Coordinator Teresa Marzilli.
