Parents and other caregivers may attend with their charges a two-hour program the last weekend of school vacation. The Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is the host for a children’s sculpture workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb 24, meant for ages 6 through 12.

In this hands-on program, kids will explore how young Cyrus Dallin taught himself to sculpt by observing the wildlife and people around him and learn Dallin’s method for making frameworks to create their own clay sculptures.

A materials fee of $20 per child ($15 for members) is due in advance, a news release said. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Attendees also will participate in an age-appropriate tour of the museum housing works of famed Arlington-based artist.

Space is limited: Please register by Friday, Feb. 23. Do that here >>

The museum is at 611 Mass. Mystic Street in the Jefferson Cutter House in Whittemore Park in Arlington Center. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum, off Mystic.
